Reviews
While visiting the Cape in August, we thought this was the best place we ate at for fresh seafood. We were staying near Falmouth but took a day trip to Plymouth. The fried clams had more clammy flavor than at the Lobster Trap. My sons both wanted lobsters which are sold live in the seafood market portion of this place. There are a few tables to eat at inside and it is ultra casual with paper plates, etc. There is no nice view, but we thought the food was better here and were super relaxed.
We had a late lunch at Rock Bottom on a weekday afternoon. We shared a cup of clam chowder, a lobster roll, and fish and chips. Everything was absolutely delicious. The clam chowder was one of the best that we had in the area - thick, creamy, and filled with clams. The fish was just lightly breaded and fried. Fresh and delicious. I'm still thinking about that lobster roll - really, really tasty. Cole slaw was good - nice vinegar base. Big portions-we actually had more fries than we could eat, which never happens. Service was friendly and helpful. We sat inside and enjoyed it. Parking was ample and easy. Highly recommend.
Rock Bottom Seafood offers both a seafood market and a seafood shack experience. They have daily specials one for each day of the week except for Mondays. (They are closed on Mondays). The fried food is absolutely delicious! On that day, the seafood platter ($25.95 w/o tax) is an ample portion and easily feeds two people. It is lightly fried and not dry at all. The french fries are more tempura like rather than a typical french fry. It came with shrimp, scallops, clams, and a nice piece of fish. The clam chowder was great as well. The pint feeds two people easily. It was creamy with lots of clams and potatoes. Dining space is relatively clean and updated. Bathrooms are available and parking is sufficient. The service is fast casual and quick.
Fresh lobster here are tender, sweet, and succulent. Freshly caught and cooked lobster here
I wanted a fish sandwich and fries. This place didn't disappoint! The sandwich was holding as much fish as I could possibly want! The young woman on the counter recommended the fish soup, very good. If I was to own a place I would model it after this place. Very clean and bright.
